Wild

My greatest love story I will ever tell will be the one I have with Jesus.

The lyrics to one of my favorite worship song are:

Come away with me, come away.

It’s never too late, it’s never too late, it’s not too late for you.

I have a plan for you, I have a plan.

It’s going to be wild, it’s going to be great, it’s going to be full of me.

Open up your heart and let me in

Jesus Culture, 2010

Just study these words. I know it’s not a verse from the Bible, but we can learn so much from worship songs also. Obviously, worship songs shouldn’t be our main source, God’s Word should be, but these songs are an amazing tool for us.

I love how the songs tells us it’s not too late, it’s NEVER too late. It’s not too late for you to turn your heart to God. It will never be too late. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done in your life or are currently doing. HE DOES NOT CARE. He just wants you to turn your heart to Him.

God has a plan for your life. If you’ve spent any time in church then I’m sure you’ve heard this one. Jeremiah 29:11 “I have a plan for you….” The incredible thing about the world we live in and God, is that He does have a plan for you, but you have been given free will to choose. You have been given the free will to choose if you want to follow God’s plan or if you want to follow your own path. God’s plan may not always seem easier or more enjoyable, but in the long run it will be both of those things. It doesn’t mean there won’t be hardships. We live in an imperfect world and things will happen unfortunately.

His plan is going to be wild and great. Here’s the fun part about God and the part that my personality seems to really enjoy. God doesn’t have a plan for any of us to live a boring life. His life was far from boring when He was on earth. Truth be told, I’d rather not go through most of what Jesus went through, but his life was far from boring. God’s plan for your life is wild and crazy and wonderful. He doesn’t want you to suffer through your day-to-day. Yes, some days will be boring. Again, that’s just life on earth. But many people seem to believe that God is boring and that christians have to live a boring life. I am a testimony that that is just not true. I have many friends that I know have proven that this isn’t true. Trust me, I thought my life between knowing who Jesus was and trying to figure out who I wanted to be was crazy, but I have friends that lived an even crazier life than me. At the time, all of us thought it was fun, but let me tell you, my life is more fun and wild now with God than when I wasn’t with God. We’ve all been through some things, some worse than others, but God’s plan for your life is gonna be great and wild. Let me repeat for the people like me that crave spontaneity and fun: He doesn’t intend for us to live a boring life. My life has had far greater meaning and been far more fun and wild than all those “wild” years way back when.

The great thing about it all. All you have to do is open up your heart and let Him in. You just have to give yourself over to God and to His Word. You will mess up. You will sin. You will experience sadness. You will experience pain. You will have joy. You will have happiness. It’s not all going to be easy, but it will be worth it. You just have to give your life to God and strive to be like him each and every day.

This is just the tip of the ice burg. This isn’t my love story with Jesus, yet. His work in me isn’t finished. I’m so thankful to know Jesus though. I get to raise a beautiful little boy to know Jesus and know Him well. That is literally my job right now. To make sure that our son knows THE Son. To make sure that he knows God is on his side and by his side at all times. To make sure that he knows the Word, the living and breathing word of God. To make sure that he knows he is loved my his parents but more importantly his heavenly father. What an incredible job to have. As parents you have an incredible job ahead of you. Thank goodness we aren’t trying to do it on our own.

Just remember. It’s never too late to choose to follow God. His arms are open wide patiently waiting for you.
